100 Years of X-Rays. ()
Summary: This movie makes use of a “humorous” character with the appearance of Prof. Calculus .as a thread. Several precursors of Röntgen appear and the discovery is placed in a historical frame. Then the discovery is briefly presented. The progress of French radiology is covered. The role of Marie Curie during the war is very detailed. Then are presented the image intensifier , the contrast agents to end with Hounsfield and magnetic resonance imaging.

Summary: The movie starts with a presentation of the discovery of Röntgen and is followed by the history of the beginning of Radiology in France (Béclère), tuberculosis screening and the start of radioprotection accompanying evolution of radiotherapy. The history of different techniques is developed, mainly from the French viewpoint. Finally non-medical techniques are tackled.

Summary: the movie highlights the contrast between the visible and the invisible in different objects, and so shows the “practical” aspect of Röntgens discovery. The discovery is then tackled and after that the influence on later discoveries due to Becquerel, Curie, Einstein redrawn. The collection of A. Renard is then presented and followed by a plea in favour of the building of a French museum of radiology in Abresle.
