     Summary: The history of the discovery is situated among the great inventions of the 19th century. Then, the discovery of X-rays is tackled in a very didactic and visual way, followed by the hazards , and radioprotection is presented, then radiotherapy, mammography, neurosurgery, scanner, paediatric radiology, each time based on a specific case in a humanly way (name of the person, interview, symptoms,…). After that, non-medical applications are introduced: Egyptology, paintings, veterinary radiology. A brief overview is given of new techniques (ultrasound, MRI) concluding with practical arrangements for the visit to the Remscheid mobile exhibit.
